UPDATE: Shooting victim in critical condition

One of the two teenagers shot during an apparent drive-by shooting Monday night has been released from the hospital, according to police reports.

Two male teens sustained gunshot wounds during an incident in the 45000 block of W. Ed Green Lane in Maricopa. Maricopa Police Department spokesman Sgt. Hal Koozer, said the call came in at 8:13 p.m. and upon arrival at the scene officers found the two victims, both of whom were transported to Valley hospitals.

“This case is currently under investigation,” Koozer said. “Two teenage boys were shot. One teenager who sustained a gunshot wound is still in the hospital and listed in critical but stable condition. The other young man was treated and released. Detectives are actively working on leads.”

The names of the victims have not been released at this time. The suspect and vehicle involved in the incident are unknown at this time, Koozer said.
