Kathryn Sinkevitch, 32, of Tempe, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the death of Michael Agerter.

Agerter, 31, was shot to death Friday at his home in Rancho El Dorado. A surveillance camera on his Sagebrush Trail home captured some footage of his street at the time of the murder. Information from the surveillance footage and witness statements, led to successfully finding Sinkevitch in Avondale.

According to MPD spokesman Ricardo Alvarado, she was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Taskforce and booked at Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office on charges of first degree murder. She was transferred to Pinal County, where she is being held on a $1 million bond.

Maricopa Police Department believes the incident was a result of a domestic violence relationship. Chief Steve Stahl said this is another example of the potential escalation that domestic disputes have. Although this time of the year is stressful for many families, the Maricopa Police Department has many resources available for victims of crime and domestic violence, he said.

MPD continues its investigation of this case. Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to call 520-568-3673.
