While the hunt for suspect Codey Foy concluded Tuesday evening, more information is still being gathered. After being shot in the left hand by an off-duty border patrol agent on Picasso Street, Foy was taken into custody and transported to a hospital to address his injuries. The border patrol agent involved was unharmed.

According to an official statement by the U.S. Border Patrol, Foy was described as an, “armed fugitive.” At this time, MPD has not explicitly stated whether Foy was in fact, armed with a weapon.

“The case is still active,” MPD Spokesperson Ricardo Alvarado stated.

The Public Information Officer for Homeland Security has not responded to a request for comment.
