An early Sunday morning argument led to domestic violence charges for a woman who allegedly threw a vape pen at her husband’s head.

Leah Yazzie was charged with Assault/Domestic Violence in the incident, police said.

Police were summoned to a North San Marin Street residence in Tortosa at 1:37 a.m.

In the incident, Yazzie threw a vape pen at her husband, hitting him in the head just above the left ear and causing a one-inch cut, according to a probable cause statement, which added she also threw an Allen wrench set at him, but missed.

Yazzie was intoxicated at the time of the incident, registering a 0.232% blood alcohol level, the probable cause statement said.

She allegedly told officers she had been strangled, but would not cooperate when asked about it, police said.
