The City of Maricopa Parks, Recreation and Libraries Department is gearing up for the 3rd Annual Maricopa Salsa Festival presented by inmaricopa.com, and they are looking for local vendors to help make this year’s event a huge success. Last year’s spicy contest drew over 2,300 people and 25 local vendors.

This FREE event is designed to bring the community together in a fun and festive atmosphere and serves as a complement to the PRL Department’s motto of creating community through people, parks and programs.

The 2nd Annual Salsa Festival drew hundreds of participants, who frequented vendors’ booths all along the midway.

“With over 2,300 people attending the 2006 Salsa Festival and over 4,000 attending Founders Day last fall, we have created a dynamic series of events that allow you to market your company to thousands of residents in a focused environment for a low cost,” PRL Director Marty McDonald said.

The PRL Department is selling booth space for the low price of just $75 for a 12′ by 12′ space. There will be five (5) premium vendor booths that will be sold for $300 a piece. These booths will be 20′ by 12′ in size and will be located in strategic locations throughout the event. There will be 50 vendor booths sold for this year’s event, and the PRL Department is encouraging those interested businesses to sign up early.

“Once the booth spaces are gone, they’re gone.” McDonald said. “The demand for vendor space at this event is incredibly high, and we already have an interest formed. Vendors will have the ability to market their company, sell merchandise, hold raffles and more.”

In addition to business vendors, the City of Maricopa is also looking for food vendors to create a food court. Specifically, they are looking vendors specializing in traditional “fair style” foods, but they are also searching for local restaurants to participate.
