A hot weekend is expected to precede several days of rain with a chance of flooding, according to the National Weather Service.

Friday’s forecast sees more sunny skies and a high of 104. The night is expected to be mostly clear with a low around 74 and increasing winds.

Saturday also has a sunny forecast and a high near 102. The overnight low will be around 73.

Sunday, things begin to change. The high will be near 98 under partly sunny skies, with a 10-percent chance of rain after 11 a.m. That increases to 30 percent during the evening, when the low will be around 70.

NWS then expects heavy rainfall in the area beginning Sunday night and continuing at least through Tuesday. Some areas are expected to receive 1-2 inches of rain, which would include high likelihood of flooding. More precise information will be available as the new week approaches.
