Cloudy skies and a strong possibility of rain start this week's weather in Maricopa.

Maricopa weather is turning much more Arizona fall-ish this week, leading up to a sunny forecast for Thanksgiving Day.

Today, there is a 30 percent chance of showers after 11 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. Skies are mostly cloudy and the high is expected to be near 78. Winds may reach 10 mph. Showers are likely tonight. NWS is giving a 60-percent probability.  Thunderstorms are possible after 11 p.m.

Monday will be cooler and the 60-percent possibility of rain continues. Skies will be partly sunny with a high near 68. Winds out of the south-southeast will be 15-20 mph and could gust to 30 p.m. Precipitation could be between a tenth and a quarter of an inch. The overnight low will be around 45.

Tuesday, the sun is expected to return in full, the high is expected to stay around 68. The night will be clear with a low near 43.

Wednesday also has a sunny forecast. The high is expected to hit 70. The overnight low will be around 44 under mostly clear skies.

Thursday’s Thanksgiving forecast is for sunny skies and high near 72. The night will be mostly clear with a low around 42.

Friday is expected to have a high of 73 with sunny skies for Black Friday shoppers. Overnight, the forecast calls for a low around 42 under mostly clear skies.

At this point, the weekend looks much the same, with sunny skies and temperatures in the low 70s.
