A woman was arrested March 20 after a traffic stop led to discovery of illegal drugs and firearms.

At about 12:15 a.m., Maricopa Police stopped Cozetta Galvan, 38, at West Bowlin Road and North White and Parker Road.

Galvan’s vehicle was towed due to a revoked license.

Officers searched the vehicle and found about 50 blue M30 pills in a cup of soda in a rear cup holder, burnt aluminum in an empty cigarette pack, and a syringe and torch light in Galvan’s backpack.

Galvan and other occupants told MPD there were no weapons in the car, but officers discovered a 9mm handgun behind the driver’s seat.

According to the probable-cause statement, Galvan claimed the firearm even though she is a prohibited possessor.

Galvan was arrested on suspicion of possession of narcotic drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and three charges of misconduct involving weapons.
