Mayor Christian Price had no one to debate but did step up to explain a much-referenced 1-percent tax cap during Monday's city council debate.

In case you missed it, at a debate forum Monday night after a couple of candidates for Maricopa City Council mentioned the state’s 1-percent tax cap as an important issue to tackle in the future, Mayor Christian Price (running for re-election unopposed) gave an off-the-cuff “Reader’s Digest” version of the situation.
