A 55-year-old man drowned in a home pool in Maricopa on Friday afternoon, Maricopa police said.
At about 12:30 p.m., Maricopa Fire/Medical and Maricopa Police Department responded to a possible drowning in the 22000 block of Reis Drive.
According to officials, a family member had pulled the man from the pool before crews arrived.
Life-saving measures were initiated and the man, who was not immediately identified, was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The incident remains under investigation.
MPD and MFMD urge the public to be cautious during warmer months and to review water-safety measures. They recommend adult supervision of swimmers, barriers to restrict access to pools by children and animals, as well as swimming lessons to improve comfort and confidence around water.
