A head-on crash slowed afternoon traffic in Rancho El Dorado this afternoon.
The wreck happened around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Desert Greens Drive and Rancho El Dorado Parkway. This is one Maricopa’s most crash-prone intersections, according to crash data, where InMaricopa reported five major collisions between August and November.
A newer red Chrysler Pacifica and white Nissan Frontier PRO-4X were involved in the crash.
One person was on a stretcher at 2:45 p.m. The extent of their injuries remains unknown.
This is the fourth accident we’ve reported this afternoon, with a pair of wrecks happening at Smith-Enke Road and John Wayne Parkway at lunchtime and two elementary schoolers being hit on a scooter in Glennwilde this morning.
InMaricopa has contacted Maricopa police for more information about the head-on crash at Desert Greens, apparently the most severe crash of the day so far.
This breaking report will be updated once more information is gathered.
