One person was hospitalized in an evening crash today on John Wayne Parkway.

The crash near Hathaway Avenue was reported at 5:36 p.m., according to Phoenix Regional Dispatch.

Maricopa Police Department reports a two-vehicle crash at that intersection. Reporters on the scene said a totaled BMW sedan was facing the wrong way in a southbound lane.

Maricopa police and fire units were on the scene and had blocked off southbound lanes at 5:45 p.m. The lanes have reopened.

”One person was transported with minor injuries,” MPD spokesperson Monica Williams said.
