8 fall festivities to leave you spellbound this weekend and beyond

As Halloween quickly approaches, Maricopa businesses and organizations are conjuring events guaranteed to provide a hauntingly good time for local residents.  

Here are eight events to rise from your grave (or house) for and check out — at your own risk.  

 

The Roost’s Halloween Bash  

20800 North John Wayne Parkway, Suite 101 

Friday & Saturday nights 

Kick off the weekend with a Halloween Bash at The Roost Sports Bar & Café. 

This two-night event will have costume contests each night with $100 prizes. Voting both nights starts at 11 p.m. 

Today is DJ Dance night, so show off your frightening moves and get ready to do the Monster Mash. Tomorrow is Karaoke night to showcase your wicked singing skills.  

The restaurant promises spooky decorations, drink specials and a fun atmosphere all weekend long.  

 

Molly’s House of Little Feet’s Trunk or Treat 

16540 North Porter Road 

Saturday, 5 to 7 p.m.  

Molly’s House of Little Feet’s Trunk or Treat makes it annual return tomorrow. The preschool’s spooky affair promises fun for all, especially the little ghouls and goblins, with decorated cars, candy, costumes and food available for purchase. 

 

Little Whiskers Trick or Treat Event  

17590 Shea Way  

Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  

Join Little Whiskers Animal Rescue for its Sixth Annual Trick or Treat event. The event will provide a scary good time with food trucks, carnival games from the unity club at Maricopa High School, bounce houses, pet adoptions, vendors and more.  

Plus, trick or treat through each vendor booth and stock up on candy for a sugar high that might just last you until Halloween.  

 

EarthWise Pet Costume Contest  

20924 North John Wayne Parkway  

Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

This event is for the witch’s and warlock’s best friend. Dress up your furry companion for EarthWise Pet’s Costume Contest, which starts at noon. There will be onsite food vendors, treat bags and Halloween baking for the pups in attendance.  

Plus, get an immortal Halloween photo of your four-legged friend for $5.  

 

Maricopa’s YA Fall Fest  

45295 West Honeycutt Avenue  

Saturday, 6 to 8 p.m.  

Join Maricopa’s YA for its Fall Fest, a special night to share the Lord’s grace and love as well as experience community with other young adults. There will be worship, games and food.  

This event is meant for people aged 18 to 30. 

 

Mysterious Mansion Mayhem Bus Tour  

44345 Martin Luther King Boulevard (NE parking lot near lake)  

All ages tour Friday, 7 p.m.  

Senior trip Monday, 5:30 p.m. 

Take a ride on the ghoul bus to check out Maricopa’s most haunted houses with Ride 347’s tour of InMaricopa’s 2024 Mysterious Mansion Mayhem. 

Not only will your ghost host and carriage be decked out for the occasion, but you are encouraged to dress up in your most frightfully fantastic costumes as well. This ghostly adventure will take you to see some of the 46 houses part of the contest.  

Adult and senior tickets cost $13 and child tickets cost $10. There are only three spots left tonight. So, if you want them, you’d better grab them fast. There are five spots left for the senior trip on Monday.

Central Arizona College’s Halloween Bash 

17495 North Regent Drive  

Monday, 6 to 9 p.m.  

Here’s one for the collegiate goblins and ghouls — Central Arizona College is hosting its Halloween Bash Oct. 28.  

Students are encouraged to come dressed in their spookiest costumes for a chance to win a prize. To sign up for the contest students need to go inside the cafeteria at the event. The winners will be announced at 8:30 p.m. during the bash.  

In addition to the contest there will also be games, dancing, crafts, face paint, snacks and drinks. 

 

Pacana Park Pumpkin Walk  

19000 North Porter Road  

Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m.  

On the eve of Halloween, head to Pacana Park in your coolest costume for the city’s annual Pacana Park Pumpkin Walk. There will be local businesses like InMaricopa with tables set up around the lake for your little ones to get candy from. 

Plus, you’ll get to see the entries for the annual pumpkin decorating contest.
