A+ Charter Schools co-sponsors community events, virtual open house

One of the core values of A+ Charter Schools is to support the local community through citizenship efforts, while teaching students the same value.

Based on this value, A+ Charter Schools has co-sponsored the Movies Under the Stars events at UltraStar Multi-tainment Center. The movie events run throughout the summer and are free to the community. Visit Ultra-Star’s website or Facebook page for the selected movies offerings throughout each week.

“Being a school that represents and supports our own community is very important to us. We want to set the example for our students of what citizenship and being actively involved in your local community looks like,” said principal Rachele Reese. “We are excited to partner with other local businesses in an effort to fulfill Mayor Price’s vision for a city of dreams.”

On Saturday, June 20 from 9 to 11 a.m., the school will partner with AutoZone at 20886 N. John Wayne Parkway to offer a free car wash. This event is another way to give back to the community and a great way to have dad’s car cleaned in time for Father’s Day.

A+ Charter Schools will open on July 27, 2020 and will start with grades 7-10 in the first year and add grades 11-12 in subsequent years. The school is opening a new building that has taken careful considerations for health and safety, as well as cleaning protocols due to COVID-19, such as touchless bathroom fixtures, hand-sanitizing stations throughout the school, 1:1 technology to minimize the sharing of Chromebooks, and carpetless floors throughout the school that are easy to disinfect and clean.
