A+ Charter Schools sets career fair, enrollment tours

A+ Charter Schools launched as a new charter school for the 2020-2021 school year. And already they are experiencing growth as they expand their grade levels for the 2021-2022 school year to grades 7-11.

In preparation for growth in their student enrollment, the school will host a Career Fair on Saturday, March 6. Due to COVID-19 protocols, the event will be by appointment only. The school is interviewing for middle school and high school teachers in all subject areas, special education, as well as paraprofessionals and substitute teachers.

The school’s instructional model is focused on project-based learning. All students are issued a Chromebook each year as a tool for learning and to promote 21st century skills, as aligned with the school’s Portrait of a Graduate. Next year, the school will offer an Early College Program and Job Shadowing Program for its first class of juniors.

“We are grateful for the incredible team of teachers and staff we have that empower our students each day to develop the skills required for college and career readiness,” said principal Rachele Reese. “We are looking for more like-minded teachers and staff to create authentic and meaningful learning experiences for our students to join our team for next year.”

Additionally, A+ Charter Schools has planned several Open Houses for students and families in the coming months. The first Open House will be on Tuesday, March 9 from 9 a.m. to noon and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. while students are on spring break, as well as Saturday, March 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with free hotdogs. Tours are also available during the week by appointment only.

“Inviting the community and families into our school to see our facility and the work of our students first hand is always exciting,” Reese continued. “Space is limited and classes are filling up quickly! We would love to meet with interested families and students to answer any questions they may have. We welcome you to one of our events or to schedule an individual tour.”
