Arredondo admits defeat: ‘I learned much about Maricopa’

To the editor,

Yesterday morning, I congratulated Rich Vitiello on his win as our next Pinal County supervisor for District 1. I wished him well and reminded him to not to lose sight of our rural residents’ needs and desires.

I want to take this opportunity to personally thank the 13,000-plus voters who supported my campaign. I am equally honored and humbled by your support.

I had the opportunity to meet many of you at your homes and community. I learned much about Maricopa issues and concerns with the growth. We validated many of our rural communities’ issues that we have in common.

A big thank you to all the local volunteers in both Maricopa and Coolidge who took time out of their busy lives to make a difference in your respective communities. It was your drive that allowed me to reach as far as I did.

Allowing me to give a voice of reason and opportunity to play a part in our democracy. Though I fell short, it was not without garnering attention to our common concerns of managing growth with the support of infrastructure, protecting our property values and open space.

Lastly, I want to thank all the candidates at all levels of this election cycle for putting their name forward to give us a choice whom we want to be represented by. Congratulations to those who were successful in winning their respective campaigns and I wish them well on addressing the needs of our local, county, state and national issues.

Thank you!

Respectfully,

George Arredondo Sr.
