Assistance for homeowners

The Smith home in The Villages at Rancho El Dorado is set to become a future "Maricopa Museum" after the city issued a minor development review permit. [Brian Petersheim Jr.]

At no cost to homeowners, a group, My Brother’s Keeper, is offering to assist homeowners with delinquent membership fees.

The group wishes to work with homeowners in Arizona who may have fallen behind on their homeowner’s association payments, by assisting them through the Arizona Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF).

HAF is primarily a foreclosure prevention program. HAF funds can be used to pay homeowner mortgage delinquencies, property tax delinquencies, and HOA delinquencies that could otherwise result in liens and foreclosure. HAF funds can also be used to pay homeowner utility delinquencies and delinquent insurance with a maximum assistance total of $40,000 per household, and as mentioned before, at no cost to homeowners.
