Be Awesome Inc. is inviting local teens to kick off the summer with an evening of high-energy fun, connection, and creativity at its free “Nerf & Surf” event, scheduled for Wednesday, June 4.
The event, exclusively for teens ages 12 to 18, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Copper Sky Recreation Complex. The event is limited to 50 registered participants. Activities will include Nerf battles, color war showdowns, beach-themed crafts, and access to a pool party, along with pizza and drinks. Additional snacks and merchandise will be available for purchase, with no item priced over $3. All proceeds will support future events for Maricopa youth.
Designed to provide a safe and engaging alternative to screen time and boredom, the event is sponsored by Community of Hope Church and Council Member AnnaMarie Knorr.
“Teens in Maricopa face real challenges which can be exasperated by isolation, parents being stuck on the SR347, feeling disconnected from their community and having few teen centered opportunities for recreation,” said Priscilla Behnke, executive director of Be Awesome Inc. “Nerf & Surf is more than just a party. It’s a night of connection and recreation for teens who need to feel a part of their community.”
