You’ve probably seen or read some weirdness inside Maricopa Walmart’s miles of aisles.
It’s where one violent crime-gang shoplifter recently beat a superstore employee with a BB rifle, sending him to the hospital.
This time it was out in the parking lot fronting the discount superstore in the Maricopa Wells shopping center, and fortunately no one was hurt in last night’s 8:49 p.m. crash.
A motorist can both thank and curse the bollard that prevented her SUV from crashing into Walmart last night. Otherwise, the motorist might have ended up in the sliding-glass-door entry on the store’s east end.
While the bollard prevented what could have been a serious injury crash, it caused some serious damage to the rogue 2018 Nissan Rouge’s front right fender. The bollard only lost some paint.
Maricopa police report that they responded to the collision.
“The driver of the vehicle involved explained to officers that they were driving westbound at about 10 to 15 miles per hour through the main entrance way of Walmart parking lot when another vehicle made a wide right turn in front of them,” the Maricopa police report states. “The driver stated they attempted to make more room for the turning vehicle when they collided with a concrete bollard. The vehicle was disabled due to the collision. No injuries were reported. No citations were issued.”
The reporting officer added, “Any damages to the property are considered a civil matter between the driver and the property owner.”
