Nearly two years after construction began, Maricopa’s first single-family rental home community is finally ready for move-in.

Bungalows on Bowlin will complete construction of its 196-unit community on John Wayne Parkway and Bowlin Road in the coming months, but renters have already started moving in or reserving units.

A video published by the city’s development services department this morning showed that while the complex isn’t complete yet, at least 19 units are ready. The video stated construction will be complete this spring.

Offering rental single-family homes is an exciting prospect, said Assistant Manager Jody Buchanan.

“We’re so excited to be open,” Buchanan said. “You get all the great lifestyle advantages of luxury apartment living but also a single-family home environment.”

Among the perks: a community pool, a clubhouse for regular community events, a dog park, fitness center, smart home technology and 24-hour maintenance.

Another highlight? Few, if any, shared walls.

“People living in apartments tend to deal with loud neighbors living above or next to them,” Buchanan said. “The two- and three-bedroom units are standalone units, and the one-bedrooms are like duplexes.”

The gated community offers one-, two- and three-bedroom single-story units that range in size from 676 to 1,355 square feet.

Base rent runs from $1,615 to $2,195 per month.
