Quite a few InMaricopa readers asked about the unusual sight along State Route 347 yesterday morning. Drivers reported a man in a cape walking straight down the center median. He wore a baby blue hoodie, shorts and what looked like a red blanket tied behind him like a superhero on foot.

The calls were enough to prompt a response from the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Troopers located him at 8:02 a.m.

DPS spokesperson Bart Graves said the man appeared to be dealing with mental health issues. A trooper gave him a ride away from the highway, and no citation was issued.
