Mayor: Chili’s coming to Maricopa

It’s finally happening. Chili’s Grill & Bar is coming to Maricopa.

According to a Facebook post from Mayor Christian Price and other sources, the casual dining giant has secured a location in Maricopa and will be serving up its variety of menu items here in town.

“I told you, every day, new things are coming to the City of Maricopa!” Price said in his post. “This one has been in the works for some time, and they even announced over a year ago. But then they backed off for about a year then charged full steam ahead. Nice to see this area growing. Enjoy!”

Council member Vincent Manfredi said Chili’s is a big win for the city, but it is just the beginning.

“Chili’s is just the first of many restaurants and retail establishments coming to Maricopa,” Manfredi said. “As a city we’ll continue to work to bring the big box retailers like Lowe’s, Home Depot, Target, Kohl’s and many more to the city. And as we continue to grow, we will become an even more attractive target for other restaurants, retailers and other businesses.”

The tentative location for Chili’s is adjacent to the Jiffy Lube in the Wells, at Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway and Stonegate Road west of Walmart. No timetable for the start of construction or opening of the restaurant is available yet.
