The newly opened Copper Sky Multigenerational Center opens its pool and aquatic center this Memorial Day weekend.

The $20 million recreation complex and multigenerational center opened its doors on March 15, but this will be the public’s first opportunity to enjoy its outdoor aquatic facility.

The aquatic center will be open for Copper Sky members Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. and will open to the public at noon on Monday, closing at 8:30 p.m. It will be closed Sunday.

The pool area features:
• Eight-lane, 25-yard lap pool
• 1-meter diving boards
• Leisure pool
• Waterslide
• Rock-climbing wall
• Lazy river
• Interactive splash pad for kids

Copper Sky Multigenerational Center aquatics coordinator John Garton is excited for the community.

“Having an aquatic center like this increases the quality of life for Maricopa residents in order to promote a more well-rounded lifestyle,” he said.

Access to the pool facilities are included for those who have a membership with the multigenerational center. Day passes for aquatics are $4 for adults and $2 youth 18 months to 17 years-old. Season passes and per-visit punch cards are available for those who wish to only use the aquatic center.

Season passes:
• Adult resident – $40.00
• Adult non-resident – $50.00
• Family resident – $210.00
• Family non-resident – $262.50

10-visit punch cards:
• Adult/Senior resident – $30.00
• Adult/Senior non-resident – $37.50
• Youth resident – $15.00
• Youth non-resident – $18.75

Garton doesn’t expect as big of a turnout this weekend as the original grand opening in March, which had more than 5,000 people, but he expects the aquatic facility to be buzzing this summer.
