Crews will begin construction on several upgrades at the Copper Sky Recreation Complex tomorrow.

The upgrades include a pier on the lake and a climate-controlled patio on the east side of the recreation facility.

Visitors are advised to be mindful of two small, fenced areas that will be temporarily off-limits. The lake levels will be temporarily lowered for pier construction, but fishing will remain available.

Pier construction should take about a month. Construction on the entire project is slated to last until May, according to a statement from the city today.

Timelines are subject to change, according to the news release.

“These new additions not only align with Maricopa’s commitment to providing top-quality recreational facilities, but also present significant opportunities for increased recreation,” City Manager Rick Horst said. “We anticipate these projects will enhance the overall experience for the thousands who visit our park annually.”
