Cops’ fire extinguishers save the day in Glennwilde

Maricopa police and fire worked together to extinguish a debris fire before it spread to a Glennwilde home last night.

Maricopa Fire and Medical Department just before 10 p.m. was dispatched to a reported house fire on the 18200 block of North Tara Lane.

Maricopa police officers, who responded to assist, arrived on scene first and used their fire extinguishers to help put out a “pile of material stacked up near the home which caught fire,” according to city public safety Monica Williams.

“This intervention minimized the damage to the home,” Williams said.

MFMD contained the fire shortly after. There were no injuries.
