Details emerge in crash that closed SR 347 Sunday night

Some details have emerged regarding the crash that closed SR 347 northbound Sunday night.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety Duty Unit explained the incident as follows:

“This was a one-vehicle fatal collision northbound SR 347 at milepost 180,” the duty office said. “The vehicle was described as traveling at a high rate of speed before rolling over. Three passengers were transported to an area hospital. One of those involved had been ejected.”

The accident caused DPS to close northbound SR 347 at Casa Blanca Road for nearly eight hours while the crash was investigated. The highway reopened at 4:50 Monday morning. Southbound lanes remained open overnight.

No information about those involved in the accident has been released.
