Enterprise Bank & Trust to acquire First Interstate Bank in Maricopa

The First Interstate Bank branch at Maricopa Manor Business Center will soon carry a new name: Enterprise Bank & Trust.

Missouri-based Enterprise Financial Services Corp. announced earlier this year it will acquire 12 branches from Montana-based First Interstate BancSystem, including the Maricopa location. Other Pinal County branches included in the multi-state deal are in Casa Grande, Eloy and Coolidge.

The purchase transfers about $740 million in deposits and $200 million in loans into Enterprise’s system. Executives say the move strengthens the bank’s presence in Arizona, where it has operated for nearly 15 years, and expands its reach to 12 locations statewide.

The acquisition is expected to close in October, company executives said.

For Maricopa customers, the most immediate sign of change will be visible outside the branch. Plans submitted to the city’s development services department last week show new Enterprise Bank & Trust signage replacing First Interstate branding at the Maricopa Manor Business Center.

Enterprise President and CEO James B. Lally said the company intends to make the change as smooth as possible.

“We warmly welcome the existing customers and employees,” Lally said. “We will be focused on ensuring a seamless transition.”

For Maricopa residents, that means the bank at Old Maricopa Road and Garvey Avenue will keep its familiar team — only the name on the front will change.
