Wax on, wax off.

Phoenix-based Super Star Car Wash wants to offer Maricopans a third option to sparkle and shine with a new shop on the southwest corner of John Wayne Parkway and Honeycutt Avenue, according to documents obtained in a public records request.

A project narrative submitted last week to the city’s planning department detailed a conveyor-style express car wash with a 130-footlong wash tunnel. The car wash will also have 34 self-serve vacuum stations.

While some of its Valley locations offer detailing services and oil changes, pre-application paperwork suggests the Maricopa location will not.

If built, Super Star would be the third standalone car wash in Maricopa. Fast & Friendly Express Car Wash operates two locations in town: one at John Wayne Parkway and Hathaway Avenue, and another on Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway.

Kerry’s Car Care expressed interest in constructing a car wash on Honeycutt and Porter roads by submitting paperwork last year. However, the business has not moved forward with opening.
