Two people died in a single-car crash on White and Parker road at about 11:20 a.m. today.

The Maricopa Police Department said a man and woman died in a single-car accident on White and Parker, just north of Farrell Road. Maricopa police and fire personnel responded to the call and found the vehicle left the road, according to police spokesman Sgt. Hal Koozer.

“When emergency personnel arrived on scene, they found a wrecked SUV in the culvert and on its side,” Koozer said in a statement. “Maricopa Fire and Police were unable to revive either individual, and both died at the scene.”

Witnesses reported the SUV was traveling northbound on White and Parker when it drifted across the southbound lanes and crashed into the culvert, turning onto its side, police said.

The victims’ names are being withheld at this time and the accident remains under investigation, police said.

Koozer requested that anyone with information that could aid the investigation of the crash to contact the Maricopa Police Department.
