The city’s public works department and Phoenix-based CS Construction today are installing a traffic signal at West Honeycutt Road and North Rancho Mirage Boulevard.
It’s the first traffic signal in the city east of North White and Parker Road.
Crews started restrictions Monday, which will continue until Aug. 30, according to city spokesperson Monica Williams. The work will be done between 5 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Drivers may experience delays while the new traffic signal is finished and the road is restriped.
“Traffic control devices will be utilized when necessary,” Williams said. “No lane closures are anticipated.
“The city identified this area for a new traffic signal based on increased traffic in the area and safety data trends.”
