Maricopa police arrested a man on gang-related charges and accused him of threatening several people, including police officers, with his cartel connections Friday afternoon.
Cops arrested 25-year-old Colby Charles on four felony charges of threatening and intimidating while being a street gang member, and five more counts of assault, criminal damage and disorderly conduct, according to a police report obtained by InMaricopa.
Police responded to a behavioral treatment home on West Horse Mesa Drive in Alterra after someone reported Charles threatened a fellow resident and an employee.
Charles reportedly started stripping while he antagonized the employee “in an aggressive manner,” according to the probable cause statement. When another resident tried to intervene, Charles started throwing gang signs.
When cops rocked up, Charles threw more gang signs at them and pointed at his forehead tattoo, the report stated. He told police he and the Sinaloa Cartel would go after the officers and their families.
Charles, handcuffed inside a police cruiser, tried to kick the car window out.
Charles was booked into the Pinal County jail. He faces over 62 years in prison.
