A female 14-year-old Maricopa High School student was the victim of an indecent exposure incident near Bedford Drive and Rancho El Dorado Parkway on Thursday.

After learning of the incident, Maricopa Police Department immediately began an investigation.

Following several investigative leads, Criminal Investigation Division personnel gathered information leading them to an adult man in Gilbert. On Friday the man was located and contacted by MPD.

“While there was insufficient evidence for an arrest, MPD is working in partnership with the Pinal County Attorney’s Office to see that appropriate criminal charges are filed against the suspect,” the police department said today.

“MPD thanks those who assisted in the investigation, which led to a speedy conclusion to this case.”

The investigation suggests this was an isolated incident.

“MPD encourages community members to be aware of their surroundings and to report suspicious activity immediately,” the police department said.
