She said the carnivore diet gave her more energy. Now, she’s proving it.
After finding success in a YouTube channel she started earlier this year, Glennwilde resident Jenece Mordt — a.k.a. Carnivore Granny — wrote and self-published multiple health and lifestyle books in recent weeks.
“It almost feels like a calling because I cannot stop writing,” the spritely 46-year-old grandma told InMaricopa.
Carnivore Granny wrote four a series of four books called “Rooted: A Series for Living Outside the Lie.” The books focus on the history of diet and nutrition, baby formula and beauty and skin care.
Mordt said the series weaves together the history of each industry, how companies influenced product use and encouraged consumption, the potential risks some products pose to consumers and the alternative options that exist.
There is one additional book planned for the series about health in the home. Also planned is a book outside of the series that links healing the body with personal freedom and religious growth.
The series came about from the research Mordt had done over the years on various topics, but she notes it all began when she made a major change in her diet nearly two years ago.
“When I became carnivore, I just wanted to start healing my body and my whole life,” she said. “I’m really big into informed consent, so I want people to know how these things are going to affect you, your body and your health.”
That led to accumulating years of research into the books and, finally, sitting down to write them this year.
“I never pictured myself as a writer and, honestly, I didn’t think anything would come out of the books,” Mordt said. “I really hope [people] read the food one, the one about reclaiming real food, because that one really encompasses everything. It affects everybody and it’s such a short and easy read.”
They are quick reads — each book is fewer than 150 pages — and priced at $14 or less. E-books and paperback copies of the books can be purchased on Amazon. Subscribers to Kindle Unlimited can get free copies of the books.
