Maricopa police arrested a woman after they say she assaulted her husband at a local shaved ice shop Wednesday.

The married couple lobbed accusations of kidnapping at each other, according to a probable cause statement obtained by InMaricopa detailing the incident.

Just before 4 p.m., police were called to Bahama Buck’s on North Porter Road after a domestic disturbance was reported.

The caller, 28-year-old Victoria M. Jones, told dispatchers her husband was kidnapping their two children. She also reported her husband hit her with an unspecified object.

In a twist, the husband previously told police it was Jones who kidnapped the kids.

He took his son and daughter out for frozen treats when his wife showed up and assaulted him, according to the probable cause statement.

He told officers that his wife followed him to Bahama Buck’s. He said he asked Jones if he could be alone with the children, but she refused.

The man and the children attempted to leave the snow cone joint in his car. Allegedly, Jones grabbed their daughter and tried to force her into a different vehicle.

According to police documents, the son ran toward Jones’ car and tried to help his sister get out before sprinting to their father’s car. Before the man could close the car door behind his children, Jones tried to push her way in.

The man tried to block Jones from entering his car when she allegedly struck him in the ear and ripped his earring out. Officers reviewed video footage of the alleged attack.

Jones told officers she was following her family members because she was afraid her husband would take the children out of town. She also said her husband had scratched her in the tussle.

Just after 5:30 p.m., Jones was arrested and was later booked into Pinal County jail on four domestic violence charges including one for assault.
