Ongoing work on ADOT's Broadway Road Improvement Project will close several freeway ramps this weekend. ADOT has paused any full freeway closures until after next Sunday's and completion of the WM Phoenix Open. [ADOT photo]

Construction on several East Valley freeways will create detours and delays for Maricopans heading to the Valley, Arizona Department of Transportation said.

The ramp to westbound Interstate 10 from southbound State Route 143 will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday for paving. ADOT recommends drivers use the southbound SR 143 off-ramp at University Drive and travel west on University Drive to 32nd Street to access westbound I-10.

I-10 in both directions will be narrowed to two lanes at 48th Street from 3 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday for bridge work. ADOT requests drivers slow down and prepare to merge safely into the two lanes.

The westbound U.S. 60 HOV ramp to westbound I-10 will be closed from 3 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday, for bridge work.

Drivers can use the southbound SR 143 off-ramp at University Drive and travel west on University Drive to 32nd Street to access westbound I-10 while the ramp from southbound SR 143 to westbound I-10 is closed.
