A Desert Passage man arrested on child pornography charges killed himself four days later.
Police arrested 37-year-old Brian Moehr on felony charges of sexually exploiting a minor on Thursday, according to a probable cause statement obtained by InMaricopa.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children sent Maricopa Police Department a tip Sept. 27, which stated a file containing “apparent child pornography” was uploaded to the internet from a phone number attached to Moehr’s address.
Police described the file as “an explicit sexual video depicting a minor female.”
During the investigation, police found numerous additional videos uploaded to Moehr’s Cloud data. Police confirmed six of them to be explicit sexual material depicting children.
Police served a search warrant at Moehr’s North Celis Street home, where they found the phone used to upload the videos. The packaging for the phone was found in Moehr’s car.
Moehr was booked into the Pinal County jail Thursday and was later released.
Moehr died by suicide in Maricopa County Monday, according to the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office.
