A flying fry cup at a local McDonald’s landed a man in jail over the weekend.

Maricopa police arrested 51-year-old William Brennan Saturday after he admitted to hurling food at his wife.

Cops responded to the McDonald’s restaurant on West Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway around 5 p.m.

Someone at the restaurant reported a fight after Brennan allegedly threw a cup of fries at his wife’s face.

Brennan allegedly ordered his wife to get in their vehicle when he saw the reporting party watching.

The caller followed the couple in their car until the cops intervened.

Police pulled Brennan over on West Green Court in the Desert Passage neighborhood. He came out of the car with his hands in the air, according to a probable cause statement obtained by InMaricopa.

Brennan told officers he and his wife fought inside the McDonald’s, but he didn’t mean to hurt her. He said he threw the container of french fries at her instead of his fist.

He was booked into the Pinal County jail on a pair of domestic violence charges, including one for assault.

He could face three years behind bars.
