Man found with apparent gunshot at Circle K, shooter unknown

An investigation continues after a man was found with an apparent gunshot wound in his arm on Thursday night. 

At about 10 p.m., Maricopa police responded to Circle K, 41433 Honeycutt Road, on a report of a person shot.  

Officers found an 18-year-old man inside a vehicle with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his upper arm, a police press release said. 

The man told officers the shooting had occurred in the Maricopa Meadows neighborhood, and that he had driven himself to Circle K. 

According to Maricopa police, the man said he knows the shooter, but could not identify him.
The man was transported to a Valley trauma center with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. 

Detectives still are trying to verify details of the incident reported by the man. It remains under investigation.
