Your city council made it a mission to mandate lowering property tax rates for every taxpayer.
As your council member, I have never voted to raise primary property tax rates and never will. The budget approved earlier this week for the sixth consecutive year reduces property tax rates.
In a time when many cities and their residents were feeling economic instability and inflation, the city council pushed to lower the city’s primary property and secondary tax rates.
The tentative budget starting July 1 includes a 7% tax rate decrease from last year. This contributes to a 25% decrease in property tax rates over the past five years, a testament to our commitment to fiscal responsibility.
