The Maricopa Arts Council and the University of Arizona’s Maricopa Agricultural Center will host a free grand opening reception for the fourth MAC at MAC Gallery this Friday.
The fall 2025 exhibition is a selectively reviewed show featuring paintings, collages, sculptures and textiles by 14 artists. Themes range from plants and flowers to wildlife, indoor settings, abstract works using found materials and holiday-inspired pieces.
Organizers say the gallery highlights several of the area’s most acclaimed artists, along with newcomers who have recently made Maricopa their home. This includes Pam Sutton’s realist parrot works and an abstract collage by Ronnie Bowen.
The project is led by Arts Council co-director and local artist Kaui Wilson in collaboration with Agricultural Center officials.
The Arts Council will also continue its “Inside the Creative Mind” lecture series at the Maricopa Library and Cultural Center next year. The series, focused on creativity in everyday life, will feature Maricopa residents who are artisans in wood and glass, an author, a bagpiper and a board-game designer. The free Saturday programs are scheduled for 3 p.m. on Jan. 10 and 24 and Feb. 7 and 28.
