Maricopa Chamber of Commerce moving headquarters

With its membership having grown, The Maricopa Chamber of Commerce is requiring more space.

Therefore, the Chamber, which has been in existence since 1990, is relocating as of this Saturday to 44870 W. Hathaway Ave., Suites 5 and 6. Office hours will be Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Executive Director Terri Kingery said growth prompted the relocation. “With the Chamber and the City in such a growth mode we needed more space and the City needed this trailer,” Kingery said. “We have been looking for about three months.”

According to Kingery, the move will benefit MCC in several ways. “We will be certified as a State of Arizona Visitors Center, we will have conference room space available, and we will have a more comprehensive center for members to display their fliers, etc.,” Kingery noted. “In approximately six months we will be able to offer incubator space for members to use on a temporary basis.”

Kingery said that the Chamber has a number of things on its plate at the moment. “We are currently developing workshops to help fledgling businesses through the process of getting started and existing businesses obtain additional funding,” Kingery said.

On Tuesday, the Chamber announced a partnership with the Arizona Small Business Association (ASBA) that will bring more resources to growing Maricopa businesses.

Current Maricopa Chamber members can join ASBA at a reduced rate of $100 (a $25 savings) by accessing the “joint membership” link at www.MaricopaChamber.com. In addition, new members have the ability to join at a special joint membership rate.

Kingery said through this partnership MCC members who enroll in the joint membership program now have the added resources of the ASBA. “Our joint members will have access to a wide range of educational programs including tele-seminars and in the fall the new ASBA Academy on-line learning system,” Kingery said.

Chamber members will also have access to the SCF Arizona workman’s compensation safety program through ASBA, access to ASBA’s group healthcare program and more.

“We could not be more excited about the opportunities this creates for both ASBA and Maricopa Chamber members,” said Joan Koerber-Walker, CEO of ASBA. “Chambers are invaluable partners in growing communities like Maricopa. They provide the face-to-face service, local advocacy and best in class business networking and support.”
