Maricopa Music Circle to perform well-known themes

Maricopa Music Circle is set to perform many well-known themes from your favorite plays and movies, On April 2, at 7:30 p.m., at the conference center at the University of Arizona – Maricopa Agricultural Center, located at 37530 W Smith-Enke Road, Maricopa, AZ 85138.

MMC, also coined as “The Orchestra of Soloists,” is unique as they do not perform with a conductor, with a history at performing at the grand opening of City Hall, at Global Water, at Province Town Hall and local churches.

With an entrance fee of $15, $12 for students at the door, the evening includes screen themes by artists; John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, Henry Mancini, Dimitri Tiomkin, David Raksin and special numbers by Danny Elfman, Harry Warre, Elmer Bernstein, and Charlie Chaplin. Plus composers of music for the stage, including Jerry Bock, Giacomo Puccini, Georges Bizet, and George Gershwin.

This concert will include music from Raiders of the Lost Arc, Sleepless in Seattle, Laura, Schindler’s List, Modern Times, E. T., The Russia House, and numbers danced by Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire will be played, in addition to: Arias from La Bohème, Carmen, and Fiddler on the Roof, The Simpsons, The Magnificent Seven, and Star Wars.
