Pinal supervisor: Why Marlene Pearce is right choice for Maricopans

We have an important election in November and while most of the focus tends to be on the national and state races, I believe the race to determine who represents you as your county supervisor has a greater direct impact on the City of Maricopa than many of the federal or state races.

The race for county supervisor is between Marlene Pearce, a longtime resident from Maricopa, and Jeff McClure, who lives in the SaddleBrooke area near Tucson.

Marlene Pearce understands Maricopa and will naturally serve you better than a candidate who lives over 100 miles away. Please consider the benefit of maintaining a strong partnership with the county and the important difference a hometown supervisor will make before casting your vote.

As your county supervisor, I’ve partnered with the city council, local leaders and non-profits on many important projects that have significantly improved Maricopa. Please let me share just a few of them:

• Contributed to the successful completion of the 347 overpass
• Pulled hundreds of acres out of the flood plain for greater economic development and lowered flood insurance premiums
• Secured non-profit funding for Maricopa seniors and seed money to start the new Boys and Girls Club
• Provided on-site COVID testing and seed money to start your local Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
• Partnered with the City on projects to revitalize the Historical District

With Marlene’s eight years’ experience working for our County, her experience working with the City of Maricopa will be crucial to continue those community partnerships and projects.
