A motorcyclist was hospitalized with “what appear to be minor injuries” after being rear ended on Porter Road this afternoon.
Maricopa police and fire crews responded to Porter and Honeycutt roads on an original report of a crash with a trapped person at 12:06 p.m., according to Phoenix Regional Dispatch. First responders on the scene learned there was no person trapped.
Both a motorcycle and Nissan Cube were driving southbound on Porter Road when the motorcyclist turned on their blinker and slowed down to turn into the Circle K parking lot, according to city spokesperson Monica Williams.
The Nissan driver did not see the blinker and rear ended the motorcycle while driving about 45 mph, Williams said. The driver remained on the scene for the investigation.
“The motorcycle driver was transported to a Valley hospital with what appears to be minor injuries,” Williams said.
