The State Route 347 passing lane near Casa Blanca Road was blocked for more than an hour this afternoon following a three-car chain-reaction collision.

No one was injured.

Traffic was blocked for about an hour, backing it up for about a mile to near the north Maricopa city limits, while state troopers investigating and clearing the crash were on the scene.  

At 3:38 p.m. this afternoon, a white Chevrolet Traverse collided with a white GMC Terrain that then collided with a third unknown passenger vehicle.  

“All three vehicles are not drivable but there were no injuries,” said Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesperson Bart Graves. 

Based off of photos from a nearby Arizona Department of Transportation traffic cameras it appears that the Chevrolet Traverse may have collided with the GMC Terrain pushing it into the unidentified car. The exact cause of the crash is still unknown.  

At 4:12 p.m. cameras showed the crash-involved cars moved off to the right side of the road and traffic clearing.
