At least 1 dead in pedestrian crash on SR347

UPDATE 5:23 a.m. Feb. 21, 2025 The northbound lanes of State Route 347 have reopened near Maricopa, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

UPDATE 10:27 p.m. Feb. 20, 2025 Spokespeople with the Arizona Department of Public Safety confirmed that southbound traffic on SR 347 was temporarily closed but has been reopened. Northbound remains closed.

ADOT has turned its camera back on at the intersection of SR 347 and Casa Blanca Road.

UPDATE 9:39 p.m. Feb. 20, 2025 Maricopa Police Department officers are closing northbound John Wayne Parkway at Lakeview Drive.

Drivers headed toward Phoenix are being detoured onto Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway to access Interstate 10.

UPDATE 9:28 p.m. Feb. 20, 2025 Spokespeople with the Arizona Department of Public Safety told InMaricopa that they are investigating a fatal pedestrian-vehicle collision near mile marker 178.

Traffic is closed for investigation and there is no estimated time for reopening. ADOT has turned off cameras at that location.

ORIGINAL 9:21 p.m. Feb. 20, 2025 A crash on State Route 347 has blocked northbound lanes, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The closure is due to a crash near Casa Blanca Road. Motorists are advised to expect delays and seek an alternate route.

There is no estimated time to reopen the northbound lanes. The southbound lanes are unaffected.

InMaricopa has contacted Maricopa Police Department and the Arizona Department of Public Safety for more details on the crash.
