Motorists using State Route 347 should expect overnight lane restrictions between Interstate 10 and city limits as an Arizona Department of Transportation project refreshes four median crossovers and creates a new median crossover near Riggs Road, all for use by emergency vehicles.

The following work will take place beginning Monday:

  • Refreshing the four existing crossovers will begin Monday just north of city limits. Crews will continue north to the remaining crossovers with an expected completion Jan. 12, working from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This work should not require any lane restrictions, but drivers should slow down and use caution while work is underway.
  • The left lane will be closed on both north- and southbound SR 347 nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Jan. 15-19 and Jan 22-23 for work on the new crossover located near the Riggs Road intersection.

This work is among interim SR 347 improvements based on a Road Safety Assessment ADOT completed in spring 2023.
