A man faces charges after removing some of his clothes in the middle of traffic on Honeycutt Road, according to police.

James D. Jones, 36, no address given, was arrested and charged with one count of obstructing a highway in Monday’s incident, police said.

Around 2 p.m., police were dispatched to Honeycutt and North Porter roads after multiple 911 calls reported a man was blocking traffic, according to a probable cause statement.

While officers were on their way, they were informed that eyewitnesses were reporting the man to be “stripping” in the roadway, police said.

Officers arrived on scene to find Jones shirtless in a traffic lane on Honeycutt Road, west of Porter. He was allegedly swinging his hands up and down in front of a stopped vehicle, preventing it from moving, the probable cause statement said.

James complied with the request of officers to leave the roadway, police said.

According to police, Jones allegedly stated he had consumed alcohol and was on parole in California.

Jones was booked into Pinal County Jail on the charges, police said.
