UPDATE 10:35 p.m., Nov. 22: While Maricopa Police Department detectives continue to scan the street, it has been confirmed that a person has been shot.
“As the investigations continue, it has been determined the injury sustained was a gunshot wound,” said MPD spokesperson Monica Williams. “MPD does not have a reason to believe there in an ongoing danger to the community at this time.”
UPDATE 10:12 p.m., Nov. 22: Maricopa Police Department’s crime scene unit is on the scene.
The crime scene has been extended into West Dirk Street, which is blocked at its intersection with Dancer Lane.
ORIGINAL STORY 9:21 p.m., Nov. 22: Maricopa Police Department officers are investigating an injured person in the Maricopa Meadows neighborhood.
Police were dispatched to the 45000 block of W Dirk Street just before 7:15 p.m. and found the injured person, said MPD spokesperson Monica Williams.

As of 9:10 p.m., police have closed Dancer Lane between West Dirk Street and West Guilder Avenue.
