Maricopa police investigated a vehicle submerged in a lake in the Province neighborhood this afternoon.
At approximately 3:35 p.m., crews extracted a blue Hyundai vehicle from the small lake on the northeast corner of Rummy Road and Pinochile Lane.
Sgt. Hal Koozer on the scene said crews used a drone to locate the vehicle and divers assisted in towing the vehicle out of the lake.
Earlier today, MPD requested assistance in finding 67-year-old Sandra Lee Karelsen, who was last seen Feb. 13. Karelsen drove a 2022 blue Hyundai Tucson.
Officials have yet to confirm what may have been found inside the vehicle.
